Woodham Mortimer Pre-School: "
Children’s Learning Journey
At the end of last term parents were given some records of their child's achievments including details of a formal observation, some comments about their child and proposed next steps to be worked towards this term by their Key Person. We asked parents to add some comments on the space provided for and return them to the child’s key person. This is a new idea we we welcomed any comments whether positive or negative about whether parents found this useful.
Parents Evening
At the recent AGM, a vote was taken to look into starting a parents evening to give all parents an opportunity to talk with their child’s key person about their child’s achievements and to look at the records we keep for their child. The first Parents’ Evening will be held towards the end of this term.
Half Term’s Topic
We will start off this term by looking at the children’s records of their Christmas Holidays, together with introducing a topic of Winter. As usual to ensure our topic is relevant we will be looking out for the children’s interests and the topic will change and adapt according to their interests. We will keep parents updated with how we progress by email and our evaluation on the door at the end of each session. If there is anything parents notice their child is fascinated with or a new achievement they have made, we have asked them to let us know about it so that we can include it in our topics or at registration time."
